The Problem We All Face

Let's be honest. If you stay in Singapore, the hardest part of the day isn't work. It's figuring out what to eat for lunch.

Every single day in the group chat, someone asks, "Eat what ah?" And the reply is always, "Anything lor."

Then you end up walking around the hawker centre for 15 minutes, sweating, only to order the exact same fishball noodles or chicken rice you ate two days ago. It is frustrating. Singapore has so much good food, but when we are hungry and tired, our brains just stop working.

That is exactly why we created JiakSimi.

How JiakSimi Actually Works

We wanted something fast and simple. No need to read long food reviews or download another app.

JiakSimi is basically a food decision wheel. We pulled data directly from the Singapore Land Authority (SLA) OneMap and Google Places to make sure the food spots are actually accurate and open.

If you don't know what to eat, you just do this:

1. Put in your location (like "Bugis" or just use your current GPS).

2. Set your filters (we made sure to include a strict Halal-only filter for our Muslim friends).

3. Spin the wheel

Whatever the wheel lands on, you go eat. No more arguing. No more wasting time.

If you are eating with a group of friends who are very stubborn, you can use the Makan Battle mode. It puts the food stalls into a 1v1 bracket tournament so you guys can vote until there is only one winner left.

We are going to use this blog to share proper, honest food guides. Not those sponsored posts that say everything is nice.

We will share things like:

• Which stalls at Maxwell are actually worth the queue.

• The best late-night supper spots that open past 2 AM.

• Updates on new features we are adding to the wheel.
